gauge cluster wiring Empty gauge cluster wiring

Post by killian Sat Apr 14, 2012 8:13 am

    Hello everyone,
I love the websight. I was hoping that maybe One of you guys might have a picture of how the wires hook up to the back of the gauge cluster. I unhooked mine a couple of months ago and my computer crashed that had my pictures of the wiring on it. Thank you in advance for all of your help.

My van had all kinds of aftermarket hacks and I recently found an intact original replacement. Does anyone have a diagram as to what connections on the back of the panel go where? In particular, the two connections on the ALT gauge, and the two connections on the FUEL gauge (not the one that connects to the TEMP gauge) To make matters more confusing I'm upgrading the wiring harness to an American Autowire kit and in turn have changed my alternator to a one post set up. Sorry if this is a dumb/newbie question.

I think I have 90% of this figured out. Tell me if I am correct please. Working Left to right based on the pic above:

    FUEL -
furthest right post wires to sending unit
Post with bar to ALT gauge wires to the fuse box/ignition
remaining post wires to TEMP guage

    ALT-
Right side post under bar wires to starter solenoid/battery
Left side post wires to alternator (can I wire this to a one post alternator set up?)

    TEMP-
remaining post wires to temp on manifold

Do I have this correct? Thanks in advance
