I am looking at a 67 parts van and have a few questions. Is the roof(rear 6 inches)and rear gutter the same as my 65.If not can it be made to fit easily.I would like to put a v-8 in the 65,the 67 also has a 6, are all 67 doghouses bigger, would a 67 6 cylinder doghouse be the one I need for a v-8 in my 65.How about floor?Hope this makes cense just came back from a long christmas lunch . drunken

I don't know about the roof but I know the 67 doghouse will make your conversion ALOT easier...I have seen 65 doghouse's modified to fit a v8 but looks like alot more work than just switching doghouse's. I know there is pics of the conversion somewhere in these forums....in the old forum maybe?

I sent Chebby the pic's of the V8 doghouse swap and she's supposed to put them back in the Archives. Yes a 67 doghouse is what you need and if that's what you intend to do you can cut enough of the 67 floor out to also change the master cylinder opening for a dual master cylinder. Like Mo I'm not sure about the roof but when I get time I'll get the measurments for ya. My 67 and 65 are sitting side by side in the garage.

Mcfly 67 was the change over to the new body style. Pretty sure alot of the inter door workings are same as first gens. If your looking for patch panels for the roof the back half of the roof should be the same, but the front part of a first gen drops down a little more than a second gen. As for the side body panels they should be the same for patch repair.

Mcfly the 67 and the 65 measured the same width. I measured at the point where the clip is attached to the rain gutter on each side at the rear.

Some of the Chevy folks swap over to a Dodge doghouse when doing a V8 swap. I hear the Dodge box is bigger.
