    introducing Empty introducing

Post by Guest Fri Oct 07, 2011 1:32 am

    Hi there.

Here's a introduction of us. We are a couple of guys who imported a g2500 '69 from the States to Holland. We took it completely apart and rebuilding from scratch, a nice job but it takes a lot of time (ok we want to do it the right way). For now the finishline comes to our sight, for that reason it is becoming difficult sometimes with replacing and missing parts. Mostly we can fix it ourself.
    Photo's will be posted.
We defenitly have some questions, the most important one for now are two things:
    - we need a ventwindow for the passengerdoor;
    - does anyone have pictures of the linkage from the powerglide to motor, we think we're missing some, so or we have to make ourself or uy it.

One of our problems that we encounter is that we live in Holland and for parts we have te order from the states.

    greetings from holland

What we need is the window itself including everything on it.

WELCOME! Happy hunting with your parts needs. There are some on the forum that locate parts for sale around the country & posts a link. So far, they have been very helpful to me in locating parts. GOOD LUCK!

The glass is just glued into the frame, the frame is part of the whole vent assembly,,,,,you can pull out the other side glass for a sample and have a glass shop cut you a new piece of glass,,,,,,

The linkage is pretty much what you see in this first picture. I think the only change is that bar #5 got a little bend to go around some stuff starting in 1967.

    introducing Screen31

This second picture shows how the Neutral Safety Switch, #5 in the second picture, hooked to the transmission. This keeps the engine from turning over when the transmission isn't in Neutral or Park. It also triggers the backup lights when the transmission is in reverse. This switch is almost impossible to find new.

Welcome! Does anyone know if the neutral safety switch posted in the parts section will work? If so, perhaps we can add it. I don't want to post it here and confuse the subject.

Hi guys. Some issues with picasa but should be sorted now. See below link for all the different albums:

    https://picasaweb.google.com/105056281371944634174?authkey=Gv1sRgCMHGz6-84LLRsgE

We'll try to keep adding pic's as we progress.

Regarding the gearbox linkage question we have, pic 4 in the 'gearbox Linkage' album explains (red circle), also visible on pic 2. Trawled through quite a few PDF's but still unclear about the purpose. Is this the downshift? Is this some safety feature which prevents going into drive when revving the engine?
