Re: What are you up to?
Getting ready for the annual Torque Masters auto extraveganza car, bike and van show tomoro, here on the streets of Sidney BC Canada.
I'm on the board of directors for the club so I will be busy from 530 till 3 with organising , judging and trafic control. Weather looks like it will be perfect. We have the down town core streets all baracaded off for our show with the police and all businesses on board. We have secured parking for 600 show vehicles, expecting 3 to 400 and about 8000 to 10000 spectators. We normally raise about $8000 which all goes to several local charity food banks and soup kitchens.
Big day for sure in a town of 30000 people.

Re: What are you up to?
Just been gathering some parts for the 64. Scored a set of Hooker BB headers off CL for cheap. Got the hiems for the swaybar, now just need to figure out the best way to adapt them to the SB ?
Hope your Show was a success M1. Shows benefitting a cause are the ones I like to attend the best.

Re: What are you up to?
Thanks Digz:
The car show was a great success, 312 show cars , started showing up at 545am.
We had members from another local car club provide abot 9 pople to help out with jobs.
Many posative comments, even the mayor was very happy.
I worked all day till 3 at the registration table, Judging cars and trafic control.
After expences we raised just under 6500 dollars to be distributed to the local charities.
It was a great time.
One of the twelve trophys went to a 76 Dodge B200 van that was all dected out with light green shag and wood. It is still the original owner and it had been customised about 1980 and still looked very good.

Re: What are you up to?
Finished up the rest of the front brakes. Shure is nice haveing a parts van to steel from. Both backing plates were worn so bad on the whare padds, the brake shoes would go out and not want to come back in all the way. Tomorow I'll start replacing the rear and hopefully I won't need the backing plates off my parts van.

Re: What are you up to?
Nice looking truck henrik, Congrats on your win. As for me I'm up to my armpits in swapping out rearends. I should have done this from the start, as I allready had all the brakes done on this one. While checking rear bearings and seals, I couldn't help notice this grey sludge all over the driver side. Pulled the axle and dropped that side down a woooosh all this watery soup came pouring out. Plan B....swap rears and move on. Oh well at least it will be ready by friday...New windshield woooo hooo.

Just returned home from a Van Run in PennsylVANia! Labor day weekend Three Rivers Vans host Butler. Isacc only got us for @ one hour on Saturday. Cooled it down but was warm & Sunny the rest of the time!!! 186 Vans thru the gates this year, down a tad, due to people thinking that Isaac would ruin the weekend. No luck, just good fun & great looking Vans & people!!!

Last week I rode the Dalmac bike ride, 5 day UP route, 370 miles on a one speed bike. I drove my old 64 GMC to Lansing and camped in the parking lot the first night.
riding over the Bridge
after the bridge
in the UP that Castle Rock thing
this is what I started with the wood rims were rotted and the crank was broken

Re: What are you up to?
Been fine tuning the the 327 in the 66 panel. The Gilmere pulley system has been kicking my butt! Every time I get her around 2800 RPM's the belt starts to walk. Finally had it with it and ordered a new polished aluminum double v-belt pulley set! Errrr!
