Should a 67 Custom Sportsman have a front sway bar? And does anyone know of a company that makes a sway bar for the rear? Also, are there any disk break brake setups out there? Thanks.
My '66 custom sportsman has a factory sway bar in the front. I'm not aware of a rear sway bar setup that will work. Apparently, Scarebird (http://www.scarebird.com/) makes a disc brake setup that uses commodity parts and that will work on an A van, but I haven't actually tried it.
Disc brakes have been discussed, do a search. Sway bar? I'd suggest a bigger one on the front first, then figure out if you have enough weight for a rear one. With the forward weight bias empty and mid-engine, I'd think a rear bar would cause the rear to break loose even easier at the limit.
I have a rear bar that my father purchased from J.C. Whitney many years ago. I am hoping to get it installed this week on my days off. I test fitted it with out the frame brackets and it looks like it should fit. I have no clue about the brand that it is as the invoice for it doesn't state it.
Pics hopefully next week of the jcw bar. All I got done this week on the install was marking the holes to drill and cleaned up the underside around the fuel tank.
