Yeah, the previous owner did that to spruce it up a bit for selling. I have gotten most of the overspray off now and have been doing a little bodywork. I will post some more pics next week.

Removed my driver's side mirror and this is what it looks like underneath. Any suggestions on how to repair this? I am planning on putting the mirror arm back on so it will end up being covered. Cutting it out and welding in a new piece looks like it would be pretty tricky do to the piece directly behind it??? Bondo? Any suggestions appreciated.

[b][i]Is that mirror support welded to the door ???? To me it looks like it should have steel there. As you can see it collects water there and any type of filler may give you problems down the road. If its welded maybe you can cut the welds and re-weld to the new stock.

Grind off the loose rust, masking tape off the area, apply two coats of rust encapsulating paint such as Por-15, Master Series Silver, Rust Encapsulator, Rust Bullet or one of those types of paints, then some filler if needed, then more of the rust encapsulating paint, then top coat it. It will never rust again.

What you are seeing peeking through the rusted hole is the inner brace that holds those nuts on. That brace is not connected to the door skin. I would say your rust started between the door skin and that brace. You know the drill,,,,cut out the rust,,,,replace it with a good piece of metal. Just take off the inner door panel and look inside the door at the brace around those mirror nuts,,,,you will see what you have to do.....

    Hey Digz,

Sorry for the slow reply. Going through some difficult times and haven't had much time for the van or this site. Had a break-in at work and they took the computers so I haven't been online as much as I used to be. I did get my front seats re-done and will post some pics soon.

which lens??? I know they have the back red lens. Check the Chevy links on the home page. I think you can get the park lens from Mill supply They are the same as 80's P series trucks. I think you have to file a small nub so they work.

After much back and forth on 14" or 15" or 17" I got a deal on some used 17" x 8" wheels I couldn't pass up. I know some of you don't really care for the low profile tires but thats what makes us all different. I hope to lower it a few inches eventually as well so any info appreciated.
