Re: econo air cleaner
It looks a lot nicer, more of a finished look. I suggest one strongly. Originals are round, black, and filled with oil.

Some 61-62's use a dry paper filter like this.

What do you do with the PCV hose for aftermarket set ups?

Yep i am going to run something. I kinda use to be a mechanic (5 years worth and a college degree in automotive repair) before working for the natural gas industry (Dominion Resources)

Re: econo air cleaner
I converted my oil bath housing to a regular paper filter. Easy to do, just took a little time. Same look without the hassle of oil in the housing!

Re: econo air cleaner
Hi All-
Brand new to the forum, having just bought a '65 Ford fixer upper myself. Super excited, yet trying to manage that feeling of being completely overwhelmed from the start....
Jumping into this thread here, because mine is also missing the filter and assembly. I believe I've got the same 240 pictured above from Rhys....Does anyone know where you can find these era specific bodies? Looking on the usual sites, all I see are filters, with no options for much else. I want to complete that look, but also minimize finding something that just doesn't work right (hoping to restore this thing only once here!)
Thanks!

Re: econo air cleaner
Hey 3quartersleeve
I would suggest getting a cheap aftermarket air cleaner for Now from your local auto store. Start checking the E parts for sale on here and on ebay for Econo parts now. And if I remember there were a number of posts of some nice junkyards down in the DC area where you could possibly find one for your 240. Check this forum for E Junk Yard Parts post on this forum for the junkyards. There was one in Culpepper , VA.
.
Looking forward to seeing you up here in Jersey for The Early Gathering in July.
