So close but not today Empty So close but not today

Post by StuNami Mon Feb 21, 2011 6:56 pm

So after waiting all day for the transport, it makes it's way down the street and I see my van. Schwing!

The car on the bottom had to come off first. Dead battery. Jump it and it's off the transport. 2 cars behind my van and they don't start. 2 hours later and no go, it's 15 degrees out, snowing and gusting 20 mph winds. He's got to go to Detroit to drop them off and be back tomorrow. The first car that we jumped is still sitting in my driveway with a flat tire. The reason he couldn't get it back on the transport is because the hydraulics quit working on the truck due this f'd up weather and froze something up and it won't lift back up. It's a good thing I'm lucky in cards and poonany and I have plenty of pharmaceuticals to calm the ol nerves down.
At least I sat in it before it left.

Ah ok, love that color. I am going to go with a soft yellow like that, 2007 Chrysler Crossfire yellow. Hope all goes smooth for you tomorrow.

Thanks. It's a hot color. I'm not sure but I think that's what this color is or the PT cruiser yellow. The paint code is on the can which is still in the van. Hopefully I don't waste another sick day waiting for it all day. This guy was having a real bad day but it won't even compare to tomorrow if he fs up the van. Twisted Evil

Should be alright. He didn't show much respect to the 2 vehicles that wouldn't start though. He drove away with the window down on the 2009 Caddy that was going to auction because he couldn't get it back up. I sat in that one to help to try and start it and it already had about an inch of snow in it. Ouch.
He did leave a very nice Escalade in my driveway so I know he's coming back today.

How much snow did you get G-man? I heard Detroit got 10.

So close but not today Empty Best place on the truck

    Post by Vanner63 Tue Feb 22, 2011 5:24 am

Hey, at least its parked at the best position on the truck. Near the cab and behind the windscreen. Does not get bounced around as much and keeps the rocks off the windshield. Keep us posted. Looks like a mighty fine van. Neat color.

When I was choosing my paint I came down to choosing between the two yellows for the 2007 Chrysler Crossfire and '07 PT Cruiser. Close to be sure, but when we painted up a spare fender with them both side by side the PT color was the one I chose (I think!). Didn't use the second stage, just the base color. I am so happy with the color, and get many compliments. I have the code somewhere if anyone is interested.

Finally it's in my garage. It was a scary thing watching come off the transport. Came within a foot of going over the front into the truck cab. Cruised it around the block a few times. Now just waiting for spring to start on it.

Surrrre. That was the only thing I had to promise to get this. I've gotten smarter and didn't give away too much this time. When I bought my boat a few years ago, I promised way too much to her. She really digs these earlies too.
