Re: Turbo 350 Conversion .........
I took the Rubber off the power Glide (split it ) and Tried it on the other mount and it is too small !!! it dont fit .. Too small .... I am wondering if the shift lever on a turbo 350 in a second gen will bolt up to this 350 I am trying to put in ???? Still not sure about the dip stick .. But I geuss I could get a Flex tube style aftermarket tube .... and then there's the kick down ???

Re: Turbo 350 Conversion .........
Vanish , on the dipstick tube. I put one of those Lokar flex ones in my 700, hate the POC. If there is a decent way to bend ,torture or modify the steel one Id call it a last resort. Mine was junk to start with so I went aftermarket. The kick down cables are available in longer lengths if needed, I cant remember where I got mine for sure ,, probably Bowtie.

Re: Turbo 350 Conversion .........
lokar makes the kick down cable as well...used the flex dipstick on my 350 in the 54 truck and the lokar adjustable kickdown cable. mostly straight forward.. the problem will be the mount on the intake to carb linkage...lokar makes some universal ones as well.

Re: Turbo 350 Conversion .........
It is slower to fill as you need a "should be supplied" adapter that you can hook up to a small funnel or something. That part doesnt bother so much as being hard to read the stick (maybe just old eyes). it's a nylon plastic dipstik and its just hard to see the color on it, and you have to wait awhile for the tube to drain enough to get a good reading to boot, And I have the short one! other than that they work fine and look good ! Re: Turbo 350 Conversion .........
Richie ... Thanks' I really appreciate That .... at this Point ... I got to round up some more Parts ... it will be Just One step at a time .... I am going to find the Mount first ... then try to figure out the shift lever ..... and then the kick Down ....... I got the trans Bolted up and the converter Bolted up so it's just sitting up there ...... But hey I got started on it ....... But Rich You can come Down any time That's Good for you !!!!!!! Or maybe you and I and Don and who ever else we can get together Can go Hang out ..... Some time ...... I THINK THAT WOULD BE COOL !!!!!!!!

Re: Turbo 350 Conversion .........
I missed you guys at Vic's.....I live a few miles from him. I'll see what the weekend schedule looks like for the next couple of weekends, don't know if my van is roadworthy enough for the trip but I'll steal the wife's VW. Time to get out of here.

Re: Turbo 350 Conversion .........
A metal end on the stik sounds way better, for some reason, maybe because its a shorty, mine just has some molded in hex marks on it and the oil doesnt stick to it very well.

Re: Turbo 350 Conversion .........
Ok,,,,,,here is a REAL TH350 in a 2nd Gen,,,,,,,uses a bellcrank, somewhat the same as the clutch does,,,,,its in the same place and mounts the same,,,,,then it connects to a flange on the trans,,,,,,,the dipstick tube is about 24" long,,,,,,and it would seem to me that you would need a 69 or 70 Chevy van one off a Th350 or maybe a pick up or a car one,,,,,,,,

Re: Turbo 350 Conversion .........
That tube kind of looks like it came off a 3rd Gen Van, or a step van,,,,,,made to reach from above the radiator,,,,,,a pick up or car should have the tube next to the distributor,,,,,,and you need a matched tube and dipstick set,,,,,,cutting them down could cause you a world of trouble unless you had the fluid level
