What kind of air compressors are you using??? My 33 gal craftsman is dying, and from looking around I have it narrowed down to either a Quincy or Kellog 60 or 80 gallon single phase. Ideas???

Gallons is one thing but really it's all about CFM. I'd be looking for a 10cfm if ya can swing it. in-line air files are hungry things.

As above, the CFM is very important. Any size tank will run out pretty quickly if the pump cannot cope with demand. Mine kicks out 28 CFM and it only just keeps up with some of my sanders....!!!

For a good discussion on this and everything else garage related, try
http://www.garagejournal.com/forum/
You want one that provides more volume and pressure than needed for the tools you use, quiet and that you can service (parts after the sale).
220V is good if your garage is wired, then it's a matter of tank size, dual stage or single (dual is better) and how it's driven (some direct have issues).

Looks like it is going to be a dual stage 220v single phase 60 gal quincy with a 5 hp motor. The BEST selling point of the quincy is MADE IN THE USA!!!!

Changed directions and went with a Curtis 80 gal, dual stage, 220v, single phase, with a 7.5 hp motor and 29cfm output. Can't wait for it to get here so I can get back to doing the body work.
