    Welcome Daphne!
Question for the members that have running vans: Hot rods and muscle cars used to get harrassed on a regular basis but now enjoy an almost hands-off aproach. I've assumed the same holds true for vintage vans. So long as you aren't doing something stupid, do the cops leave you alone?

I have had cops stop many time to "Check-Out" my vans. They normally have lots of questions and are more personally interested than professionally.

Rod, I spent many years as a Military Police Officer and the same rules apply. We look for very specific things. Most old vans belong to Teenagers, Old guys and Collectors/Enthusiasts. Or are used as work vans. Each of these drivers acts and drives a certain way. As a cop you learn to pick out which behavior is wrong for each type of driver. And it's a long list so I will just say you learn to spot what is not considered normal behavior, IE: teenagers have two lead feet, one each pedal and middle aged guy in a work van driving that way will always catch a cops eye....

In my case, I think the grey hair (ok, what's there is grey) helps a lot! In my younger days I was hassled by the man quite a bit on the road, but looking back I'm sure he thought I was always doing something stupid! Smile
