1967 Volkswagen Bus/Vanagon VAN Empty Scooby VW van...

    Post by ChevyVanMan1 Sat Mar 13, 2010 12:49 pm

I'm not a Scooby fan either. I own one per paint job of PO yet I would never do that to a van. Still this guy did a good job yet he could have restored that to classic VW bus too. Too each his own, eh. The main thing I like about the old Safari VW's is the pop out safari windows up front. Would love to weld a flat piece down the center of my windshield opening, cut my glass in half down the center and frame it out with chrome channel and hinges. Split flattie pop-out would be fantastic here in my hot summers. Could tell the inspectors is was some sort of option for export on the old flatties.

And, such a mod would be easy to switch back. Just cut out the metal piece and replace the normal piece of flat tempered.

I only mention this in the hopes that somebody else did the same or that somebody has a pic of such a mod. If so, please, please PM me.

    Thanks, Mark
