s-10 door seals for 1st gen???

Hey Guys,

I thought I read somewhere on here that s-10 door seals will work on a first gen but I can't find the thread. Is this true? Is there a certain year range that works the best? I am thinking of heading down to the local pick-a-part and nose around.

The S-10 gasket is the cheaper way to go, but it fits on the on the doghouse not the lid like like it came from the factory. check here for a factory style gasket

They just started making the right gasket, last year I sent them a sample from a old one I had and they made a die to make to factory one

Does it matter what year S-10 that seal comes from, and do you want to remove the existing seal from the lid?
