    This would be the 3 types of GM distributors,,,
    The points and Condenser one
    The 1st Edition HEI with the external coil,,,1976-78
    and the 2nd Edition HEI with the coil built into the cap,,,,1979-86?

    What a great, simple demonstration! It really shows that it's not as complicated as it seems. The distributor only does one thing: provide a spark at the right time as its shaft is turned.

    Thats all there is to it,,,,pull your distributor cap off, look where the rotor is pointing, pull it out and put the HEI in with the rotor pointing in the same direction and add 12 volts to the terminal marked battery,,,,,
