Re: Digz's 65 panel
Thanks ! Yeah Bill, kinda got a wth at first, I had crossed the #6 and #8 wires when I was fitting them with ends, so dbbl checked tdc and dist, np there, then re-checked the last thing I had messed with, hit the key and Wham! other than some lifter noise it sat there and ran fairly smooth sorta, was hard to tell with open headers LOL, My brother said it looked like I had an orgasm!
It was the first gas engine that wasnt in an old tractor that I had went thru in years.

Re: Digz's 65 panel
Digz, My van went to the body shop for a little work and kinda got out of control .early on we did the full blown V8 conversion ,was in the body shop for another 18 months till it came out.During that time in the shop Myself and everyone else did not have the heart to put exhaust on it .Some times we would just fire it up and run her for a while uncorked WOW what a feeling. Re: Digz's 65 panel
We have 1 side door to wrap up, and a couple body lines to straighten out.
I want to get the inner wheel wells blacked out also before paint. Speakin of wheel wells I need to lower the front shock mounts yet. running into problems
finding longer shocks that dont get fatter, tried some ranchos but they hit the sway bar linkage because of thier diameter. Still going with orange but may incorporate some other color into it , have my daughter and Randy playing with some alternate color schemes. But, Yeah ! I can can see it in my head now ,, it's been a long road to get this far and still aways to go.

Re: Digz's 65 panel
3/8 locknuts from the shock mounts, started out with the idea of welding them in place and may yet sometime, but the wheel wells are galvanized steel and dont like to be welded without grinding it to death first. Might incorporate them into some of the bracketing for the seats , see how it plays out.

Re: Digz's 65 panel
Shot some Orange today.
Rolled the dice and only got 1 qt, it wasn't quite enough.. will need some touch up in spots and I see my masking job under the dash left alot to be desired
The color is 1976 Orange Flame oem code 70 used on vettes,, looks redder with halogen lights more orange with flourescents and the flash.

Re: Digz's 65 panel
Waa WAA Waa It was 13 this mornin with a high of 20 with wind to match.
I did do alittel parts fitting in the dash this AM, but vacated when my bro was gettin ready to shoot some green on his Ol truck. Sharing a shop with another project has its drawbacks but we help each other out alot .
His bodywork is going fast, only a few small rust repairs and some dents so far.
I helped him with his king pins and bushings last week.
Hopefully will have a windshield in the van by the weekend.
