Re: Toolboxes on pickup?
now for the inside of the bed?
other side (drivers) exterior?
(don't look like road side equally equipped)
I like it so far even tho he used the very 1st model boxes I ever saw,
for the insides there. Might have even used the 'ribs' (back of door reinforcement)
and 'some' latches (not sure if from the same "1st" model or just very early). Course
the striker'n and plates came with the latch. My bet? not orig skins for the dors but U
no what? it looks like he even used the orig top rain strip (attachment screws seem orig-
inal placement for those boxes).
Good for carpenter? W/the lill air tank fora pneumatic nail gun? The circular 'pipe stand'
mounted on back corner for old style rack (early model ladder/lumber racks were made of
heavy pipe threaded for "Tees" where a cross pipe would go, just like the pvc pipe furniture
were at one time (glue insteada course NPT). I can even see the tuneau strapped over the back
using the "J" ay hook there (last pic also) for rain, "wondering eye" or is that alu strip have 'snaps'
at each rusted screw for that?
More pic?
Cool find !

Re: Toolboxes on pickup?
yup, road side not used (many today, same).
Looks like some 1 judiciously relaced a tool box (of the day) front
with the cut-out van p/u side? Not sure as I'm nota body guy. Justa guess.
For my purpose I'd do both sides as I dont sit on the st.
Pretty cool. What's ur nxt move?

Re: Toolboxes on pickup?
Both Pacific Bell and Pacific Gas & Electric special ordered Econoline pickups with these utility boxes in the right side. Yours does not look like the PacBell or PG&E utility boxes. Might have been a local company that installed yours.

Re: Toolboxes on pickup?
Those pics I shared are the normal utility boxes that Ford could supply for a utility company. Normally the tailgate and rear bumper were not included. A step bumper was added.

Re: Toolboxes on pickup?
Yes, I see a 'rounded' step'n tow. Also these? they look more like the boxes themselves were put in the vehicle, no ford bed rail above (box top used), sit out a lill from the body panel. Additionally ona cheeper van as itsa 3 not 5 window. It seems older as I think the "T" handels came out 1st?
I think a hot shot did the 1st and this 1 here may B one of several hundred as Barnabas mentioned? Pretty neat, still want "both sides" may B in the 1st 0 but eaither is nota possibility 4 me 8^ (
