Saginaw 3 speed side cover won't come off

Trying to rebuild my saginaw 3 speed. Have the transmission out and can't get the side cover to come off.

• All of the side cover bolts are out
  
• Shift arms are off of the shift forks
  
• Transmission is in neutral and verified by hand using input and output shafts
  
• Tried hitting with a rubber mallet from multiple directions
  
• Tried some light heat and more rubber mallet
  

Just can't get the cover to come off, anyone else run into this issue?

There might be a dowel pin in the cover, but it seems they glued the gasket real good,,,,tap a scraper into the gasket and see if that breaks it loose..

Belatedly, using a chisel or scraper would have been my suggestion as well. Glad you resolved it!
