cant tell all of whats goin on but like the engine choice. Is it a 'stove bolt"? a 292?
I see a 'busted knuckles garage' graphic. A while back we hada great suspention vendor/creator from OR of that name. RU in OR?

Re: engine and body progress
Sorry looks like I didn't change the pictures to the correct size. click on them to see full picture.

I'm making up the interior parts before I paint the van.

Cut outs by the driver are for fire extinguisher and first aid kit.

Fitting the floor and the dinette is taking shape.

Playing around with graphics and finalizing tailgate details.

Tailgate closed up. Still a bunch of sanding to do, I'm just waiting on warmer weather to open the doors.

Re: engine and body progress
what's the lill "cut-outs" U did in pic of 1st post- (I think) pic 5 (3 of them), 6, & 7?
Will U spray insulation under the ply floor, in the walls? (in places NH can get cold)
Is the 'handeled plate' where the 1st gen has it's battery?
I send U props for all the sanding you've done. My hands could never survive that (machine help or not).

Re: engine and body progress
The cut outs in the wall by the driver will hold a fire extinguisher and a first aid kit. Easy access for the driver.
No insulation under the wood floor. I will have 1/2" carpet padding and carpet. That should kill sound and heat. I'm going to use the pink insulation in the walls. I have used it before without issue. I will be putting sound deadening over the wheel wells and around engine.
Yes, the battery is under the floor.
As for the sanding still more to go. I hate body work! This is my first-time block sanding. There was a lot of learning on the fly.

Re: engine and body progress
Wow Buddyr! What fantastic work! I've got some questions.
I'm also running a 250 in my 64 g10 and found a 4BL Offen intake at a swap meet. I wonder if there'll be space for it in the dog box. What carb will you be using?
On your tunnel... I like that part of a dog box you used. It looks so "factory". Did you completely remove the floor under the tunnel, or just cut a hole in the front and back for the air flow?
Again... what great work you did!
wishbone.

Thanks for the positive comments.
I had the one barrel Rochester carb rebuilt and will be using it. I would think some modification to the doghouse would need to be done to fit a 4 barrel. Maybe someone who has done it can chime in.
As for the tunnel I did completely remove the floor under it. Its nice and open right to the grille.

Re: engine and body progress
I will get some together. I used the top 6 inches of a roof off a 2009 chevy van Explorer conversion. It had to be widened about 6 inches. It didn't give me any more room inside but changed the look outside. If you have Facebook, I have over ten thousand pictures of the build. I can send a link.

If it's all primed and seam sealed on the bottom. While it's on the rotisserie? I would scuff the bottom and paint it in some single stage enamel. Wesley

Re: engine and body progress
Took me awhile to see that the oval hole in one of the pics is the access port for adding brake fluid....
I'm trying to understand why those portholes are so low on the side panels.....
There is a lot of time and dedication invested in dis-assembling to that extreme and coating the underside......Great Work!
