Just South of the 52, off Regents Rd

Normally, If you are headed South on Regents you can turn Right, enter the West Lot/San Clemente/Rose Creek Trails and loop under to the road to access the East Lot. The gate was closed last weekend with no option to turn left

You will have to head up the hill and U-Turn at the first light, Luna Ave. Cruise back down the hill and the entrance will be on your Right

Dogs are allowed, leashed at all times

Dirt Lot, Restrooms and access to some cycling/hiking trails, if that's your thing. Or stuff donuts into your piehole and talk about vans, if that's your thing

Come on down, let's do van sh*t!

REIGNsoner, I love how you pick a different location for each month’s get together! When I moved to San Diego in the 80s, after traveling around the US in my first 65 Chevy van, I explored SD county on my motorcycle or in the van. The Vans & Coffee random locations take me back to many of my favorite spots! San Clemente Canyon was one of my early favorites that I returned to for years and years! There’s not much to it, and you’ve got the sound of the 52 in the background, but it was an easy way to feel like I was out in the country, with the trails winding through the big trees. (Unbeknownst to me, there is poison oak along the trails, but I only “discovered” it once, after maybe 20 years!)

I prefer the parking lot west of Regents Road because it has some shade but you’re saying to meet in East lot. That will be good for this time of year and it’s bigger. Hey, the Google Street View truck went down there!

I’ve been working hard getting my van back together and I was really hoping to get it running in time for this month’s meet-up, but I still need a day or so. Anyone who knows how I work knows how slow and nit picky I can be! But I might stop by with one of my other vehicles.

Thanks for sharing your story, VANagain! I was hoping we'd get to see ya, but I hope you were just TOO busy on the van getting it dialed in for next months meet-up.

I would also normally choose the West lot, but it has been gated off for quite some time now, not sure what what they have going on over there.

We had a good turnout, some folks from Riverside and Fullerton cruised down to join in on the fun and we had a few new local faces too. Donuts, Coffee, Breakfast Burritos, Dogs, Vans...What more could you ask for?
