1969 A100 VAN gas pedal grommet

Hi all, new to the forums and this may actually be my first post.

I was wondering if anyone has a photo of the rubber grommet also called “insulator” in the parts book, that goes in the cutout through which the rod passes through in the firewall.

Issue is the rubber is missing from my van and the rod is rubbing tightly on the sheet metal. To the point that it’s actually made a groove in it.

If anyone can offer some help on what the part looks like or how I can make one. Thanks again.

if you have a home depo or lowes go down the hardware/ nuts bolts area they all have
large selection of grommets. plugs , shelving pins, clips,/misc items in steel sliding drawers i'm sure
you should find what you need there, a lot of hardware stores have a limited supply as well

Thanks for the reply Dix. I actually meant the grommet that is in the engine compartment that the throttle linkage rod passes through. In the picture below it’s the lower diagram and the part is marked “insulator”

that looks to be near the master cylinder for the brakes,
i did a conversion from a /6 to a v-8 so i dont have that grommet ,

What motor /carb setup are you running now? I’m guessing you’re running a cable setup?

I.m running a 318 automatic , edelbrock 600 cfm i made my own cable set up till i found the steel linkage but i still had to make some parts. if i did it again i'd use a 500 cfm.
