Post by Casimier Tue Aug 11, 2015 9:45 am

    Hey Everyone
Some of you know that I've been toying with making dash skirts for the econo guys.
Well, I have a Plain Jane dash skirt for sale.
I make one at a time by hand so the production is limited.
I'd like to take orders, but don't really know what you guys out there are willing to spend on this item.
It is made from a heavy thick cardboard core covered with 2 layers of fiberglass mesh and resin. The face is sanded smooth and painted flat grey primer.

So, how about some suggestions on the price.

So I'm sitting here thinking about what my reaction would be to a couple of different price points and I am landing on a $150 plus shipping. At that price point, I wouldn't rush out and buy with no concern, but I'd probably start to save to get the money. For me, that's the tipping point.

It also depends on how many of these you want to make and the effort involved. We've seen some pay $300-400 on ebay but that's a small crowd. If you want to sell and produce a bunch, then it's got to be sub $200 shipped imo.

    But I'm a pretty cheap bastard...Smile

    I'm thinking $100 plus shipping.
Shipping is probably expensive because of the length.
Some of you guys IM me your zip code and I'll get some quotes.

Jim. Any pics of it installed? I like to see how it fits. I always thought the stock skirt was too busy for the simple dash it was bolted to. I think your skirt might just be what I need. Duane.

Duanne keep in mind the stock skirt came only on DCW's. It was supposed to be a little spicey just like the padded side panels and door panels. The DCW was the "top of the line".

    Those are nice!!
They might flow better if those bottom corners were rounded and mimicked the dashes lines?

    Hey UDO
    Thanks for the comeback
The skirt follows the curve of the dash
    And hangs straight down

So everyone knows, I got a quote from UPS
To ship a skirt to Michigan.  It was $23.
Not bad. So, I'll be taking orders for the dash skirt.    $80 plus shipping

Looks good without the ribs or lines like the DCW. If I ever get around to fitting the one I bought a few years ago and don't like it, I'll get with you.

    Hey Carl
    Longtime since we've spoken.
Just to let you know, I was contemplating putting on 1/4" gingerbread pieces top and bottom. They sell them at Home Depot. They look like wood but will bend nicely.
But, I stuck with the plain Jane look.
Put a little makeup on her and she wins the local beauty pagent!

Just a note to some of you guys that want one of these skirts.
Please remember that I'm not a manufacturer of high quality auto accessories.
They are made by hand in my back yard out of cardboard, fiberglass cloth and resin, then sanded and prime painted.
It takes me about 2 hours.
These dash skirts were made to fill a need by my fellow Econoliners.
Some sanding, cutting and painting on your part must be performed by you for your desired final look.
As always, You have a money back guarantee.
