Welcome to the site erbfreak. I hardly know a damn thing about axles, but I'm sure Nate, jkr or someone will be posting an answer for you.

Factory axles were held in by five nuts and studs on the axle end tubes. With the brake drum removed, you can access the nuts through a hole in the axle flange.

On the passenger side axle, you'll notice a starwheel type of deal. That's the bearing adjuster. You need to back this off before you pull the axles. One you remove the 5 nuts and back the adjuster off, pull hard and the axles will come out.

I have part numbers for the seals and bearings if you need them.

Do not use the "green" sealed axle bearings in your van, they will fail over time. Those are made for drag racing apps and can't handle everyday loads.

There is a procedure for adjusting the preload on the bearings when you put everything back together. I'll scan the appropriate pages out of the factory service manual tonight.

If the bearings are in good shape, clean them out really well and repack them. There is a special fitting you can get for a grease gun that will ensure grease gets in those rollers real good. There is a procedure for setting preload on the bearings...I'll get that for you.

Just be very careful the splines on the axles don't knick the inner seals in the axle tube.
