'84' Good year for parts ? Empty '84' Good year for parts ?

Post by mcfly Tue Mar 24, 2009 7:09 am

My neighbor has a 84 chevy hightop conversion van that has been sitting in his yard for a while, and he is starting to talk about getting rid of it..I really do not have room for this but is there anything on this van that I could use for my 65 ,Before I kick myself later ? My plan is to put a small block and auto in the 65 (mounts, brackets, linkage etc...)

    thanks
    Mike

not much of a bowtie guy. sounds like a good idia if the price is right, heck you could even modify the hightop to fit the 65!

You could use the drivetrain out of the 84 if it's any good. I had an 84 GMC conversion van that had a smooth running 305/TH400 combo.

    That's pretty much it really.

The motor and tranny are good 350 4 boltmain, turbo 400 but he also has a 327 out of a 65 vett that I think I am going to use. I guess I will let him get rid of it,don't have the time, space,or money right now.Just wanted to make sure there was nothing else I could use.

    Thanks
