I did a search but couldn't seem to find an answer; so my questions is: Do you have to replace the left hand thread studs and lug nuts if you want to put aftermarket wheels on? Or can you just purchase the correct size / bolt pattern wheel and use the existing left hand thread lug nuts? Thanks in advance for any info.

Wheel replacement
You should not have to replace the LH studs as long as the lug nuts fit the aftermarket wheel properly and torque to the porper spec.

Re: Wheel replacement
Check price and availability of the correct lug nuts for the wheels you are considering.
Chrome reverse wheels take regular lug nuts. No big deal.
unilug mags or other aluminum wheels that use shouldered nuts may be difficult or impossible to find left hand lug nuts for. There are different length shoulders and you must match lug nuts to the wheels.

Re: Wheel replacement
Tower .... I have done the Skarebird conversion on the fronts and intentionally kept my left hand studs. I am running vintage Keystone Klassics and was able to purchase the correct lug nuts from the internet. There are several outfits that offer left hand shank nuts as well as barrel nuts. Just make sure you get (or already have) the proper nut for your style of wheel. Good luck!

Re: Wheel replacement
The bigest problem is if you take your truck for tires brakes or inspection and a young blood puts a air wrench on it they may snap a stud or 2 before they figure it out, if you do all your own work or rememer to tell them then you would have no problem..
