I don't know much about mechanic work but he was telling me the the transmission on the early years were not synchronized . He said the later years were . Does anybody know if the 63 econo was ? I have a 63 that does not run .

I am new to this site but was a dealership tech for 33yrs and a ford dealership transmission man for 9yrs. The 61 trans 2nd and 3rd synchronized, gears loaded from the side. The 63 is fully synchronized and loaded from the top.

1961-1962 is crappy transmission. Identify by cover on the side.
1963 and later is Ford's good 3.03 transmission. Identify by cover on the top.
