bumpers? what fits '64-'66?

if you seen my pics, ya know i need bumpers. i undestand chrome bumpers for the '64-'66 are impossable to get. i plan on checking junkyards for something that will work. i can fab brackets easy enough. what have others done? anything close to looking like it belongs? [img][/img]

I have a painted front bumper for sale, $70 plus shipping. If you are going to the Nat's I could bring it there. For something that big shipping would be killer

Try Bumper Boyz from CA. Got mine from them at a swap meet here in FL. Pricey but nice. They will straighten and rechrome for you.

I got my chrome bumpers on my 69 from Bumper Boyz in 2004 and they still look great.

The bumper boyz have a very bad rep on the net, so if you do buy from them, be careful. Inspect, cash and carry.
Just type Bumper Boyz into google search and see the results..

I've always thought the early 50's chevy truck blade might look good and there at least available.

will check both, but was actually looking for someting better than i have that is common. eventually find the right ones. if a good set came along now, i would probably just get them, '50's bumpers sound fine but would want to see them on a van before ordering, just figured with originals being scarce, others have tried different bumpers. look at my pics, almost any bumper is closer.

The 1st gen bumpers are harder to find and I haven't seen many non van bumpers that look that good

Hey I have a set of chrome bumpers ,, the front is bent all to h$&& the rear not so much ,,,lol..

I bought a 65 van on ebay years ago that had 2nd gen chrome bumper on the front, the old guy that had the van wanted chrome bumpers and the dealer put on what they had at the time. They never installed the rear, they couldn't find it when the van was picked up, I was told it was wrapped up in the GM pkg. The front one on the van has some bolts in the bumper just to fill the holes, they don't line up with the 1st gen brackets.

yea beleve it or not 2nd bumpers cromed do look good on 1th gens

i will go to junkyard and find something close. then wait patiantly for a nice set.
