It needs a gas tank and after checkin' out Fred/fmc56's 20gal Mustang post, I ordered myself one. So today, I crawled underneath to drain the tank - bone dry (It's been sitting at a towing yard for 17 years or so). I tried loosening the "J" straps - snap! Both bolts shear off clean. No biggie, already got another set for the new tank. I start dropping the "empty" tank and it feels like it's half full!? Turns out the top of the tank is covered with 2 inch of dirt and was the home for some critters who, of course, used my seat stuffing for their cozy nest. Got a ton more work to do before I'm on the road, more pictures later.
