I Live in Arkansas and like the title says, I'm looking for a 1966 Dodge A-100 windowless panel van.

I have a 1962 ford econoline that works good enough for what I use it for, but the Mystery Machine was based on an A-100 not an econoline and I had a little kid tell me that the headlights were all wrong. When a kid notices it's time to make the change. I currently do Scooby Doo themed parties and some local events and have gotten the rights to do so through Warner Bros.
I am trying to move from just parties to catering as well and I need the second van, and I want THE Van not just a van that kinda looks right yaknow.

I am willing to buy from Texas, Louisianna, Tennesee, Kansas, Mississippi, or even Oklahoma if it would be worth it.

I am willing to go to a 69 model if I have to, but for some reason I just don't think that Daphne would have gotten a brand new van no matter how rich her family was and the cannon story is that it belonged to a former gardener at the mansion so it was not a brand new van in 69 when the series began.

The Dodge isn't exactly right either.

Note the single body line from under the windshield to the back (like a chevy)
Note the low headlights (Like a Chevy)
Note the spare on the front (most like a VW, all others would overheat)
Note the rear edge of the door window (Straight like a Dodge, not sloped back like a Chevy, or forward like a Ford)
Note the body is widest around the middle at the same point as the line (not like any earlies)

As far as headlights, you could have them reworked to fit closer.
Here's a Chevy someone has modified to look closer...

Sure seems like there are plenty out there already, including characters with the van.

I've always considered the early chevy vans to be the closest to the mystery machine. my son watches that show all day, I will keep my eyes peeled for a shot of the brake lights, rectangle would be chevy, round would be dodge or ford. (extended econoline also had rectangular lights but I don't think the mystery machine was LWB)

Remember =That was a cartoon show & likely the artists made their own van used in it from adding all the parts from many vans = to Avoid the copy rite payments to any manfactures or law suits ??

In an interview William Hannah said that the insperation came from an A-100, which is why I decided to go that route and all windowless A-100's I've seen have the look just about right.

This is the myspace page for our buisiness and has a few pics of the van aswell as my prom pic from 03 (yup I'm a yungern) in which I took both dates and had a blast!
Thanks for all the info RodStRace and Twinpilot001.

I may get a chevy van later on after I start to recoup my investment from the A-100 and my catering buisiness takes off. In the meantime I'm just trying to keep the memory of good cartoons alive.

Who knows? Maybe Jabberjaw and Josie and the Pussycats are next LOL.

Shame Jonny Quest and crew had to travel around in a plane...nope not goin there lol.
