There is not much to a battery box,you can make one,,,,3 pieces of metal,,,,2 holes for mounting it under the floor 4 holes to the frame,,,,,,,,,

yea i have enough scrap metal around to make one just figured it might be easier to weld one into the floor that way i would have the lid with handle there for access

Batterys charged one more cut and the floor section around the battery box is out and will be on the way to Dan. Bill

Here is how Chevy does the battery box cover,,,,,that area is recessed like about 1/4" so the cover sits flush with the floor,,,,,,,

Last night the roof came off again (windy)


dropped the trans
now to get the engine out

with the roof off I could have used a overhead crane

I'll tell you what,,,,,,you guys better be spraying some rust converter, like this Purple Power stuff, up in the top inside railing all around the roofline of your van or it will be Sawzall time. It is all bare metal in there and you know rust is just sitting in there waiting to climb out......

Don, Purple Power is great stuff and I have been spraying it on everything since day one. And you can follow it up with "All-Metal" filler in those hard to get places, it is also some great stuff.....

Purple power and then chassis saver sprayed in there will KEEP rust away.

Timber! sawzall keep on cutting

pulled off drum full of oil no rust even had paint on the springs



took out the windshield top was rusted, bottom had the bedding compound and no rust

GMC has the two holes for the Chevy bowtie hidden under the M
This was a Dealer van they never sold it. parked out back in 1973 and used for storage bin
