Seatbelts ?

Post by mcfly on Wed Nov 04, 2009 8:38 pm

Getting close to putting my van on the road. While tinkering on it today, my wife asked me where the seatbelts were ? Didn't even think about that , but than again I built a house and forgot about closets. Before I start researching what will work, I thought I would take the easy way out and ask what you all have holding your a$$es in the seat.

Mcfly,
I just got some new 3-point blts off of ebay and they work great. You will have to install anchors for them but much safer than the old lap belts...

Mike,

I just got rear ended in my jeep rubicon on tuesday. It is an '04 that I have keep in mint condition from day one. I wanted to kill the guy. I'll tell you I really like the original low bucket seats in my van, I was going to redo them,but... after getting hit, the high back seats in my jeep saved my neck. Even with the high backs I have been hurting big time.. I am now ripping the low backs out of the van and getting high backs ASAP. Don't really like the look but I have learned a lesson, big time!
So you might want to think about your seats as well as the seat belts. I am also going with a three point system.

Donn,
Glad to hear you are ok. I hope you got yourself checked out. I got rear ended 8 years ago, did not get looked at and now paying for it.Herniated disc in my neck.
The seats in my van need to be redone. I thought about high back but like you I like the look of the lowback seats. After hearing your story and reliving mine I think I will keep my eyes open for some nice buckets and a good seat belt system.
By the way did you get my message about the rear doors ?
