Two for one
On my way home from the parts store I spotted this - and it's for sale. I pulled a u-turn and went back to the lot. There was a second 1st Gen Chevy there as well. What are the odds of spotting two Chevy 1st Gens together in San Diego???
The second one was fairly customized, new paint, shaved front handles, and had had been converted to a no-door. Guy said he wanted $13K for it. The one in the picture had a blown 350 (as in a blower) and turbo trans. Whoever did the conversion used a second gen doghouse and seemed to know what they were doing. I forgot to ask how much. The guy said he hadn't heard of Vintage-Vans or VCVC so I told him he should list them here. I didn't get the impression he'd want me snapping a bunch of pics so I just grabbed this one on the way out. The place is a custom VW shop and sales lot if you're interested. http://bandrbuggie.com/

Sandy I'm pretty sure the van in your pic is the same one in this link about the V8 doghouse conversion. The paint looks the same .

I don't see any photos or videos in that link, I guess they are gone. But I figured it had to be a known van, and the paint did look familiar.

Sandy there's a YouTube video in next to the last post at that link. There's a shot of the front of the van at the very first of the video.

I just bought my 62 about a month ago, never see any earlys around here. Took a week vacation to Galveston and saw an orange spring special heading south towards the bridge, first one Ive seen in driving around. Sorry, no pics, we were on the other side going north.

Hey Chainsaw,
If you want to see more Econolines join us at Petit Jean on Labor Day weekend. There's a thread here somewhere or click on the link below.

Chainsaw, we do have a few Lone Star Econolines that come to Petit Jean every year, would be great to have another. Watch out for Carl, he'a a shark!

I'm swaping in the 9' rear now ,then have to work on the BAD bump steer. Theres not much play in the steering, but hit a bump and it's instant lane change. Got to get it right before I hit the road.

This is where you put pictures of Vintage Vans when you see one so we know its still out there,,,,,,,,,,now if you had a picture of someone standing by their van, it would go into into I Met a Vanner,,,,,,
