    Thanks for the compliments.

The shift indicator will go into the steering colum brace on the left side cuz the heater switch is on the right. I have a cup to mount the clock on top of the dash in the middle. The ignition switch will have to go on the dash face just to the right of the instrument cluster along with some switches for other stuf. I almost put the ignition switch back into the instrument pannel where it originally was but decided I didn't want the keys marking up the pannel the way they do so I placed the wiper switch there instead.

Good call on the ignition switch. It's really is in an awkward place on the instrument panel anyway... Never thought about a guage on the column brace. I have the heater and hazard switches on my brace...

Now I will have to do something with mine, yours looks so cool!

Did you buy a new wiring kit for your van, or just replace old wires and install the electronics for the new gauges?

I did not replace the van wireing. I just made good soldered repaires and add ons. A couple new fuse boxes. add ons are all new wireing. Did the same with the 1988 TPI harness and added it all together. Works good, had a couple wires wrong but no big deal. The electric speedo is cool, you temporarily add a hand held push button switch to the moduel. Drive and push the button until the speedo is reading the same as youe hand held GPS and presto the speedo is 100% accurate, don't matter what tires or rear end ratio or speedo drive gear. Its bang on and can be easily re calibrated with any change I make.

I specifically selected the later of the MAF engines.

The speed density engines are a little easier and cheeper to deal with Its not just the way it measures the air intake that is different. They are not as adaptable to changes and are a little less acurate with the engine managment due to less tolerant sensores and tighter computer requirments. They do have there share of run and drivability problems because of that. That is the trade off though. GM tried to go cheeper and found that there had to be diffferent computer chips for different driving conditions and locations around north america due to enviromental conditions. Thats why so many aftermarket kits for those systems have their own very basic wireing and thier own computers. Most aftermarket kits manage the engine for lots of power but just forget about fuel economy and emisions.

The MAF engines are a little more complex and do have additional expensive stuff that can go wrong. But because they have sensors that measure wider values and more accuratly measure air intake (without there being a limmit to how much air they can measure, unlike the speed density) they are very addaptable to engine modifications like altered adjustments and add ons like headers, cams and alike, even turbo chargers(something the speed density cannot do without changing to a different MAP sensor rated at two attmosphears). The computer system can easily deal with different values and still manage the fuel, timing and emisions with good and close to factory best ballance between fuel economy vs performance and emision control. But you have to be willing to learn about them and buy test equipment.

    I have been a vanner since 1988, I started out with a 68 108,
moved on to a 1954 chevy panel truck, miss the early very much.
Bought my wife a 64 chevy panel van. 6cyl ,pg. I have seen the work
you have done on the early you have and am very impressed, top notch
job!!!!! I have another tpi set up that will make its way into the 64 along
with a 700r4. Doing a 69 camaro auto shifter on the doghouse cover.
Thinking about power steering, maybe the s-10 box standing up through
the floor. I took all the powerglide shifter linkages and levers off the 64,
think anybody might want or need them or are they just junk?

Can you ship those powerglide linkages and levers? If so I'll take them off your hands. Let me know what $ you'd like to have for them. I've got a van with a powerglide conversion in it that just used the old 2-3 shift rod which has no lockouts. It's always kind of a mystery what gear your in to say nothing of accidently bumping the shift lever into reverse at 50 mph.

You will need to do some research for power steering. If you run a search on this site and vcvc you will find lots of power steering material. I don't think the S-10 box will due. It turns the wrong way. An astro van box goes the rite way and so do the 3rd gen G van boxes. No matter how you aproach it, it takes alot of work.

all, column to the trans. I have never shipped anything, so
will need to look into what and how much it will take, but I will do it.
