4 speed column shifter Empty 4 speed column shifter

Post by shaneaus Wed Mar 04, 2020 7:26 pm

I've been looking for awhile for a 4 speed column shifter/steering column.  Can anyone advise of any less known place to contact?  I looked up the larger salvage yards in the country and called them.  Also, I have contacted a couple of the parts locators.  The issue is they all use the same software and it doesn't even recognize that this is an option in their system!

A few searches here and on a couple of other forums have people mentioning them - but, those posts are really old.

So, if you have one, know someone who has one that would part with it, or know of some place that is less known that I can contact - please let me know.  :-)

Note: yes, I'm aware that they have a reputation for hanging up. I'm fine with that.

    Hey Shaneaus

Not sure if this is at all helpful but my van has a four speed with four on the tree but a separate reverse lever. Maybe you already know about this 'workaround'.

Can't say it really causes me any problems and its certainly a talking point!

It would probably keep someone from stealing your van! Although, a manual transmission diminishes the pool of prospective thieves considerably. Rolling Eyes

especially if you have to look behind the driver's seat for reverse!

I too am looking. Yes, considered the separate reverse lever using a morse cable but really would like the stock parts if possible.

The last 4 speed on the column I drove was on a friends 1961 Mercedes 190B
