Window crank repair Empty Window crank repair

Post by Keith D Mon Apr 01, 2019 7:38 pm

I have two questions about the window cranks.

Is it possible to remove the knob to have the crank re-chromed then reattach the knob? I don't see a way to get the knob off with out destroying it.

Also is there a way to tighten up a loose knob somehow?

    Thanks...

Unsure about that, but I would think nos, or quality used would be a cheaper route.

I may have to go that rout, really good used ones with tight handles are not easy to find.

    Keith,
Try slipping a 1/4" 'E' clip on the back side. You can buy an assortment of 300 at Harbor Freight in a compartment box, for cheap. There are many uses for them.

Thanks... I will give it a try and see if it will take up the slop in the handle... Good info.
