Wow! What a difference without the stock hinges sticking out.

And no wing windows...I'd love to be able to do that on mine...

I mocked up a full sized window with the vent window delete, and I was unable to get the glass to roll down all the way. At the forward angle our window tracks are set, the larger piece of glass hits the front edge of the door.

I'm guessing he either completely changed the angle the glass comes down, or it doesn't roll down all the way.

I'd be interested to find out... scratch

Deluxxx, we need to ask Space Truckin how he got his to work. Check out his avatar. scratch Vanny, the E vans windows don't have the forward angle the G's have. That mod would be a nice winter project, provided your garage is heated...

Yeah, no heat in the garage but I'm still happy I can get it out of the snow for winter. I'll wait until the warmer weather starts to see if I can come up with a plan of attack.

Here's a picture in case the listing goes away...
It is a very nice van. Very cool with the internal hinges and one piece window. Only I'd rather see all that on a flat windshield 1st Gen myself.

I contacted the seller through CL and asked what kind of hinges he used but he said they were already modified when he bought the van. Hagan makes a hidden hinge kit. Pricey but it looks like they would work.

My impression

Post by Space Truckin on Thu Jan 11, 2018 9:43 am

I am collecting my thoughts, while it is a "nice van", after putting hands and eyes on it, can you say lipstick and makeup, there has been a repaint on certain doors/ panels and not all the paint matches (Paint is good, but some repaint will be needed)? The shaved hinges are going to be a problem (doors open maybe 18-24 inches with no door stop/ check). It was originally a 3 on the tree and someone put an auto behind it without an auto column (typical issues w 3 on tree column to auto conversion). I believe it was an original 6 banger, Eric the seller tells me up on highway she runs 3200-3500 rpms at 60 which tells me 4:10 gears in the rear for the 6 banger. There is a SBC in doghouse w headers (they plumbed both into a 2 into 1 system???). The lowered stance is because of missing leafs. The back up lights/ turn signal are not correct, probably need new housings front/ rear. Dash has been cut and a piece of wood covers opening with gauges and radio attached to it. Disc brakes have been added but seller could not say what car/ truck they were off. All of the weather stripping is not correct. And of course there will be the 50 year electrical wiring issues which will have to be tended to. IMHO there is probably $7-10K worth of work to be done to bring up to my standards, all that being said she is a nice starter van at say........JM2C...I could be wrong... study
