Racking my brain trying to figure out my 50 mph wall I have been hitting. Is it necessary to have a big grounding wire from the block to the frame other than just off the battery and motor mounts? Could the lack of this wire on my 65 cause it to have weak spark at higher speed?

Yes you need a ground to the body. It can cause many issues like poor lighting. So it could give you trouble with the ignition. Although it's probably something else like a governor or have you put in a new distributer and still have the resister wiring? Others may jump in with more idea's

The distributor is the stock one and seems to be working as it should. Where is the govenor located? I do have dim lights so Ill add a nice ground wire tomorrow. Hopefully that will help my fuel gauge out also. It just kinda works.
