I have a sweet e-250 hightop from 1989. The van is great, and I have not done a ton of night driving, but recently had it out at night, in the rain and the visibility was pretty bad. It seems like the headlights are underpowered for the vehicle, was wondering if anyone had advice on upgrading the headlights ( LED or otherwise ). Also wondering if a solution could be to add another set of lights, but not sure about the legality or practicality of that.

    Thanks!

I am certainly not telling you to go away, but this forum is to discuss the 1961-1967 Econolines. It is posible that someone here might be able to answer your question, but you would be better served by searching for a discussion board for later model Econolines.

Apologies, do you mean just this particular portion of the forum, or is the entire forum for vans from the 60's rather then 70s and 80s

No worries, we specialize in 60's Ford, Chevy and Dodge vans but we do have a section called Early Enough for Friends and Guests where you could post your question. However, there are sites that specialize in later model vans that would probably serve you better as far as getting a quicker response .  We love all vans but have a special bond with the earlies here.

,,,,,since you are here,,,,,,,,,they do make halogen versions of sealed beams,,,,,,,those are a little bit brighter,,,are yours adjusted  correctly,,,,,,,,driving lights surely help out,,,,,,,,,our old vans would be better to drive at night if they had cornering lights,,,,,you cant see anything on the side as you make a turn,,,,,,,,,

If you got the stock H6054 lights ,  these 1st 2 sorta double the 35 watt brightness of the stock lights,,,,
