Hi every one, I am currently running a 200 but plan to put a 302 in my van. I would like to install a Champion radiator in it for the v8 which of course has larger inlet outlet openings, Can I still hook up the 200 to this radiator until I am ready to do the swap, / are there adaptable hoses to fit them and also are there any recomendations as to 3 or 4 core radiators, wich on to use and are there any fitment issues. Thanks for any help.

I bought a v8 champion rad. off of ebay for my 200. I bought the v8 on accident! In order to make it work, i had to cut off and reweld the lower hose port to the opposite side . then i ended up buying hose reducers from amazon 1.5" to 1.25" . after installing the radiator with 8 hose clamps, I decided to take it back out and just weld on 1.25" hose ports. If you try install as is, you will need a really long flexi hose with hose reducers top and bottom. The radiator support gets in the way of the upper hose, as is. Have you considered just building a badass 6?ator on

Honestly, for all the hassle involved, why not just wait until you do the V8 swap to do the radiator?
Buy a perfectly good radiator just to move/modify the inlets and outlets temporarily doesn't make a lot of sense, just to put it back to the original when you make the swap. The other thing to consider is that if you do try to get long enough hoses to switch across, you'll probably find you wont have enough room to make that work between the location of the radiator and the front of the engine.

Thank you for the advice I will probably just wait, I haven't made any decisions just yet but I would like to put a new radiator in before I make the trip from eastern Pa to Ohio for the Nat's this year. Any preferences towards 3 or 4 core rads.

I have to agree w/ wolfster. If it isn't leaking or overheating. When I put a 250 in my van, it uses the v8 style radiator stock, I went with a 2 row w/ 1 1/8" core tubes. It's working great so far.
