Mirrors - Has anyone done anything cool with them??? Empty Mirrors - Has anyone done anything cool with them???

I have the small round mirrors - they look like Model A mirrors - and altho they are cool and I really like the looks of them, I think I should have something bigger (I can not see out of my right eye).
I would like to do something trick but still looking for ideas. I'm thinking about grafting some 1997 full size Chevy truck mirrors (the electric kind) on my van but not sure.
I was just wondering what other have done and if anyone has some pix.
    Thanks!!!

    Pretty good. Thanks for asking.
I just got it far enough to license and insure it Friday. I got the linkage tightened up, radiator in, fans attached, electrical cleaned up, carb changed, heater reworked, air bags straightened out, side pipes hooked up, etc. The next thing is just finishing up the dog house lid to accommodate the new 2 barrel carb and take her out for a spin. I'm also going to put a tunnel in but I want to see if it stays cool the way it is first. Hopefully it will but, I'm going to do one either way for creating a more useable space up there.
Next will be insulation and interior.
I'm also installing a 2000 watt inverter and a stand alone air conditioner and plumb it out the dog house.
So, there Ya have it. Smile lol Loooking forward to taking her out.
Any ideas on something cool for mirrors? I've looked around on "images" etc. but, nothing really cool.
I'll be posting some pix of some of the stuff I did. It might give help someone else.

I have a 94 pickup that has those mirrors (I think) on it..... The mount for them is above the door skin in front of the window glass.....I'm really not sure how you would mount them....
Another sizable mirror with an aero plastic housing and a stem that mounts to the door skin would be Volkswagen vanagon mirrors.... On the vanagon, they mount them vertical, but if you flip them (swap left for right) they would have a similar look to the chevy truck mirrors.... I prefer a more classic look, so I am considering post-1968 VW bus stainless mirrors

IMHO, modern mirrors look horribly out of place and awkward on our vintage vans.

For functionality, and good looks its hard to beat a good set of factory west coast mirrors

Hey Chaz, this may be too old school for your trick ride but the west coast mirrors are good for vision. By necessity my mirror backs were pitted and would not look good chromed so we just did the frames and did body color on the backs. I love the look because it's kinda custom and kinda stock. You might consider a variation of two colors. Thanks for the updates your fabing looks  great. Keep up the good work. Jerry

I like the Westcoast look especially with the matching paint!
But, I have the old style goose neck round 5" mirrors. It can be interesting trying to see out passenger side. I will be getting some newer mirrors heads, which are convex to help with blind spots. I hope to get back to the van projects within the month! I was sidetracked with an arm injury Mad
