Gas tanks vendor for all vehicles

Post by Cincy Al on Tue Jan 03, 2017 4:42 pm

I'm fairly new to the site but wanted to say this site is great! While on here I've noticed a lot of questions about gas tanks. I wanted to share a vendor who specializes in tanks called Tanks Inc. Their web site is tanksinc.com. I've dealt with them with my 68 handi bus and intend to with my 48 Willys wagon. If you take the dimensions from your tank they can usually help.

Welcome!
I'm curious which of their tanks you ended up with in you handi-bus....
I've been measuring to replace my tank in my 69 panel van and it looks like the closest fit is a 53-cgx which is for a 53 chevy, but I'd love to learn of one that is a better fit.
Here is a link to one of the two chevy threads about gas tanks:

I actually used the 51-cgx. Dimensionally everything was about the same except the filler neck was moved over slightly.

I put the 53-cgx in mine. Had to remove the crossmember to get it to go in. I like it because it doesn't hang down very much. You can get whatever pump and sender you need too.
