Jetting for a Rochester B? Empty Jetting for a Rochester B?

    Post by wussy31 Sat Aug 27, 2016 3:50 pm

I'm rebuilding a Rochester B for my very stock (and tired) 230. What size main jet is working best for people? I have 4 carbs that to pull from, with jets ranging from 57 to 83 and a few in the middle.
Also, how many turns out on the mixture screw for a baseline? Can't seem to find that anywhere either.
    Thanks.

1 1/2 turns is starting point,,,,,,each carb has its own jets,,,,,so you are looking for the carb number that belongs on your van depending on engine, trans and rear end ratio,,,,,,but we put on what we can find,,,,,those Rochester B's, Carter YF's, Holleys and Rochester MonoJets,,,,,,,,and on a 50 year old vehicle,,,,I doubt you can tell the difference anymore,,,,,,,
