She's just itching to get it all back together...Gonna be all sparkly when it's done! Looks MUCHO better with the Handi-Van logo! Starting to take on it's "Own" personality...Jacke, are you going to name your van?

I'm still trying to think of one for mine. I think I'll know better once it gets on the road and I've had a chance to get to know her better. My wife and daughter chipped in for a couple of AutoZone gift cards for my birthday and my wife thinks I'm losing my marbles cause I brought the cards out to the garage, looked at my van and said, "It won't be long now baby! Hang in there a little bit longer!" lol!

Wow, Don you had to go back to the Stone age of Vanning to get crossmember & motor mounts back in.

My '64 Chevy has it too, factory, but I think it was only the 64's and early 65's.
My weight:

Vans without the weight have two brackets for the tank to sit against.

Thanks for the information. I am glad to have the weight since not all of the vans have it.
I had a 64 Chevy panel originally back in the 80's. So this new van is me re-living my early times. I have some doors without windows which will eventually recreate my "old" van's look. I really like your van it looks great! I am going to keep the yellow and white on mine for now at least.

Don was great! I guess I am just used to living in the Stone Age! Grit, gravel, rocks and blood... what's the problem? A van motor tittering over head with very little support... seems fine. I hate the spiders and the snakes, bit by a hunger spider, no good!
Hmmm is there a better way to Geter' Dun! LOL Twisted Evil Laughing

Same reason many of us have these vans...again! I had a '66 back in High School in the early 70's, that's why I have a '64 now! Its good for the soul!!

Cool, I am not alone. In the day my old van was the best panel in San Diego! Those were the days when gas was 1.00 and chrome bumpers were all the rage. I just got my bumpers chromed and I purchased some original GM front chrome guards! Swweeet!
I have never seen any vans except in pictures with those guards. So at least I have something not so everyday.

So,,,,,,the bumper brackets and radiator crossmembers from a 2nd gen are not made for a 1st Gen,,,,,,,so today was radiator day,,,,,the brake lines, shift and throttle rods and parking brake cable go through the 1st Gen core supports,,,,,,and have to be removed because thats where the radiator crossmember wants to be,,,,and the floor needs to be cut open more for that bigger radiator,,,,,and I am out there working with improvised equipment,,,,,

since that radiator has a shorter core than the stock one,,,,,I took the parts home to remove the saddles on the crossmembers and remount them to fit the tanks on that radiator,,,,,

They were done down in Mexico, $300 total Very Happy, It took a few weeks, but they look very nice.
Places up here wanted $300 each or more. I have not put them onto the van as it is under construction... replacement of correct size doghouse, etc. etc. But I will post my picks as soon as I get them. I hope to have them on soon Smile

Projects seem to be growing. It was just yesterday I had no additional sanding, cutting or fixing, repairing or projects. Now that I've cut out the old doghouse and got the big one for my V8... I have had to clean degrease, sand , hammer, chisel and line the darn thing with insulation. http://i35.servimg.com/u/f35/12/48/24/30/gmc_ja50.jpg

Should receive my chrome bumper bolts today! I can't wait to see my chrome bumpers on the van.
They look good on the patio... but I think they go onto the van? It has been awhile so I am not sure anymore. Wink Pictures soon!
