For those of you that have done the swap to aod what modifacatuons did you use for the transmission crossmember mount? Did you fab your own or buy a crossmember from summit? Also for the aid wiring did you do a dash switch or do the whole wiring jig? pics are appreciated

I have an 8" driveshaft with my 46rh. I had to move to a ford 8.8 rear end to get a shorter pinion to get a longer drive shaft. it works, but i'm not sure if you could get it work at stock height due to drive shaft angles. I am lowered around 6".

The 46h is about 12" longer than our shorty 727s.

i'm looking at using a 48re in my build and talking to a transmission guy he figures i can use one out of a 4x4 without a transfer case of course, just have a yoke made to match the spline that would couple to transfer case. if this would work it would make the trans only a couple inches longer then the factory 727.

I was looking more for people's advice on mounting. And the different ways people achieved a crossmember.

I like all the links maybe they can get arrived on a "how to" for dodge folks, I think there is another one I'm gonna look for on the abodies only forum or the magnum swap website that has some good tidbits.

I will look for the numbers on the lengths, but I already gave a shop my driveshaft to be shortened.

68bigblock- make sure you get a computer for that transmission-it's all electronically controlled!

For more information I'm using the matching magnum motor also. Everything should be done in a couple of weeks. Keep em coming!
