Gas odor problem solved! Empty Gas odor problem solved!

I think I have finally solved the nasty post shut off gas smell when storing my 1st Gen van in a garage. I ran across an ad for racing fuel deodorizer from Jegs and Summit Racing. I'll admit I was skeptical, but I spent the $15 or so shipped and tried a bottle. It actually works! I premixed an ounce into a gallon of gas and then poured it into the tank. It works as stated, exhaust now has a slight sweet flavored smell to it, I bought the Raspberry but it comes in 10+ flavors. After shut off, a sweet raspberry odor, kinda like a scented candle is all that remains in the garage. It lingers around for a few days but no more gas odor, amazing. There seems to be no difference in performance of the engine either, heck they claim they use this in dragsters running nitro to get rid of that nasty odor. Worth a try if you are having the gas boil smell.

Good Stuff the racers have been useing this for years the most popular is the "Bubble Gum" I have 3 Chevy Vans and the only one I smell gas in is my early my theroie is the motor is for one in the van and in a almost sealed box so with no ventilation after its shut off hot you will smell gas... I open my motor box lid after I get where I am going to help the fumes get out and cool off but the only way to get the fumes out is with a electric fan up front blowing for a few minuets after the engine is shut off once my van
cools down the gas smell is gone....

Joe, I used a floor fan too, but this stuff eliminated the gas smell completely and the flavored odor is much less intense than the gas smell, no more stronger than an air freshener inside the van.  Its my wife that's even more pleased than I am with the result! (Our garage is attached to the house!)

Try it, it definitely works! I have a new carb and no leaks anywhere, its all from the fuel soak or boil after shut off evaporating from the bowl inside the doghouse. Old cars do it but it disappears into the air from under a hood.
