Whats up guys! I'm here trying to get this van off the lift. Been fighting the front end. my DS spindle grease cap threads were toast. Found a replacement and its getting blasted as I type this. The king pin bores in the axle are jacked up. I went and found an axle, but the fella wont ship. I picked up an axle locally from an old timer... This thing was worthy of melting because the king pin bores were shot and and spindles had so much wear. Basically spent a day with my students cleaning this turd for nothing. I've gone ahead and searched for oversized king pins, but they dont make them for the 67 econoline axles. I figured I could use the 63 Over sized king pins and just trim them down to fit in the later spindle. I'll try and find a machine shop to size and fit everything or I'll just carefully run a reamer through the axle to get it to the proper oversize.
In the mean time, we've been replacing all the bushings in the leaf springs and painting the shackles. We'v got a road worthy exhaust ready and I've found some nice ford Ranger Aluminum wheels to add to the mix. She's looking good. gotta get her back on the ground tho!
Pics much later!
