1/4 inch U bolts

I'am new to this fourm and econolines. I have a 62 econo pick up I am trying to get back on the road. My proublems is I need new U joint U bolts. The ones on the rig are 1/4" dia. and the cups are 1". Tried napa and looked on Internet with no luck, only come up with 5/16" for 1" cups. Anybody else run across this proublem? Any help would be appreciated. I'am at a loss as where to go from here. Thanks

I'd drill the the 5/16" holes, Stronger than 1/4", assuming the width or center to center is the same.

I considered doing that but I would have interference with the nuts and the yoke. Might find a 12 point nut to work. The 1/4" size must be an oddball. Surprised this proublem has not come up before.

Have you found u-bolts yet?

No luck yet. I am going to try at a driveline service shop

How many do you need? Are they for the small yoke?

I only need one. The caps are 1" and on a 7 1/4" diff.

just for laughts - try "wirepuller here"!! He may have some as hes likely not going to use his anylonger!! I may have a set -i will look today. That or try some ford NOS sellers parts houses for then?.junk yards too -Theyre out there!!
