I was just thinking, is there a way to know who are the other members are from the state you live in? Maybe do a van rally or camp out. share resources and local information.??

Re: members and location.
On another unrelated site they had a map with pins showing where members where from. It was nice to be able to put members to a specific town and get in touch with them as needed...

That would be sweet to get some van rally's going. I saw one on PBS channel once. they had burn outs and a camping venue. everybody was having a good time sharing the stories behind the vans. maybe chebby will send the word out to see if people agree.

Re: members and location.
Many of us vanners - here in my area- cant just get over to the west coast & east cost meets- way too far!! Especially as many of us are way over the 50 ages!! Local groups just dont seem to happen or last !! I have had the same thoughts of having a meet here @ my place -having acerage & such & even a nice local park =NO ONE uses by the way. Sadly=seems no one wants to get together / talk vans / meet one another - so here we are!!

There are actually alot of events in WA state every summer. Sometimes even stuff going on in Spokane. Have you met any of the crew in River City Van Club? That is a great van club in Spokane, that has history dating back to the 70's. They are very active and do meets and camp-outs all the time. I can put you in touch with club president Jim, just shoot me a PM.
If you have acreage with enough space for a van run, that would be awesome!

It would be cool to be able to search by members' location, to be able to see everyone who is in a particular state, or everyone who is within a certain distance from you zip code. I'm not sure if this website has that capability though.

I go to a local cruise-in almost every month, and have invited those within 150 miles of me. They all say they would like to come, but for some reason or another they never show

Re: members and location.
Many member do not put their location in their profile as well. Some leave it blank of just put the state.
Chebby, anyway we can make that a "required field"? Or is that too much to ask?
Or perhaps there is a way to search members by state? Just a thought...
