I googled this but I thought I would see if folks here would like to comment. All this time I thought G10 but VIN says G12.

Is the G12 on the title or the tag on the van? Do they match? I might be wrong but I think the only thing in the vin# that indicates the model is the G . The 10 in the G-10 indicates 1/2 ton. The only other would be a G-20 which indicates 3/4 ton. I don't think that the 10 or 20 are indicated in the vin# but maybe someone else can give us a better idea.

G1205 is the Official Model Number of our vans,,,,,,,,,so you will see G12 at the beginning of the VIN number starting in 1965,,,,,,,,GMC has a different set up for their VINs,,,,,,,,
