Hi Guys, I started getting a squeal from my fan belt, so went to tighten it up and found the top bolt going into the alternator broke. I figured no problem, i'll pull the alternator, drill out the broken bolt and use a through bolt instead. removed the alternator and found that the lower swivel bracket was broken. It broke before and I had it welded. It didnt last long. Any body have a source for that lower bracket. I found one off a 81 Chevy K10 on ebay, just curious if anyone knows a part # from a later year that would work, or an aftermarket solution.

Hey Donivan, I saw that your spring place closed and that you were checking out new solutions for spring bushings. Did you come to any new conclusions on parts or suppliers. My bushings are shot, I think that will be the next project.

Re: Alternator lower bracket
Hey Marc, our 1st Gen van springs basically have 3 different bushings in them,,,,,you have the HB 930 rubber shackle bushings,,,,,,the forward ends have the 1 1/8" metal cartridges which we put polyurethane ones with a sleeve through them instead of them,,,,,,,and,,,,,,most of the time,,,,,that metal bushing on the forward end of the front passenger spring is a bigger 1 5/8" one,,,,,,so check this post out and we can talk more about it,,,,,
