    making progress Empty making progress

    Post by dougtappan October 9th 2015, 12:35

After over a year waiting for a guy to get me 2 rear springs for my 67 I think I may see them in a week or so but since I'm recuperating after prostate surgery and my son is home for the day I thought I would get some pics up to see my progress. The front axle has new brass bushings and is back in the van I found a M420 Muncie4 speed so I will have my rat fink shifter after all.I needed a whole side to make my baby a no door I was willing to go anywhere this side of the Mississippi to get it and pan58head had one in NH awesome guy to deal with. I guess i'll put up some pics.As I mentioned I'm turning my van into a no door If any body has done this I could use all the advice I can get. To hard to caption all the pics so the only ones I haven't talked about are the ones of the tramway I had to build to roll the van out of the shed to have it sandblasted.I than painted the bottom with self etching primer and POR 15 topcoat

Lets see your front brakes on both sides. That one picture looks like both primary shoes on one side

    making progress Empty brake shoes

M1 awesome call I saw what you were talking about the minute I looked at the picture. you are absolutely right. So I started digging and I need to know if I am correct in thinking the PRIMARY shoe is the REAR shoe. Donnie referred to it as facing the bumper. When you put the rear shoes on its the only way that makes sense.

The primary shoe is the the one with the shorter pad and it goes forward of the axle. The self adjuster stuff and the park brake lever all go on the secondary shoe to the rear of the axle.
